Stranger Than Fiction

Yesterday evening around 4:45 pm, my daughter and I were sitting on the front steps. Something shiny in a tree caught our attention, and I had my phone in my lap, so I used it to zoom in a bit and see what was causing such a glare in the sunlight.
I recorded the lights for about 40 seconds. I thought about the different possibilities. There were pieces of tinsel hanging on some of the limbs of the tree — probably from the handlebars of my little girl’s bicycle — but when I went to inspect it a little closer later, the tinsel was not very shiny or reflective. This time of year, there are lots of lightning bugs, and there could have been some in the branches of the tree, but it was daylight and I don’t see them being bright enough to catch our attention like that. It seemed like the light was just beaming from whatever it was!
I did not hear the sound near the end of the video until the next morning. Maybe it was just the sound of my breathing, and the audio captured it in a weird way, or maybe it was one of the animals, but regardless, it sounds pretty freaky.
A few nights ago, it was late afternoon, and my husband and I were sitting on the same steps while our daughter played in the yard. We both looked at each other and held our noses because there was this sudden awful smell! We sort of laughed it off as being one of our pets, but now, I wonder.
